Thai massage uses pressure and passive stretching along the body’s energy lines to relieve muscle pain and increase flexibility, while relieving tension and providing a balance of the body’s energy systems. Thai massage is both deeply relaxing and energizing.
Thai massage takes place on a mat on the floor and is performed with your clothes on. Bring or wear loose fitting clothing or yoga pants or gym shorts. The practitioner will always adjust the amount of pressure and stretching to suit your specific conditions. Some people say Thai massage feels a little like doing yoga without any of the effort, because the practitioner will move your body into various positions without any work on your part. The practitioner literally uses his or her hands, elbows, knees and feet to massage your body during a Thai massage.
Thai massage has it’s roots in a spiritual tradition and its purpose is to heal a person physically, emotionally and spiritually.
